Women are now taking the entrepreneurial world by storm and are making serious bank doing so. Today, these women are running their own multi-million dollar companies and are becoming positive role models for girls everywhere. Here are 10 female CEOs under 30 years old who have made names for themselves and are continually building their successful brands.            

Michelle Phan; 28

Most people know Michelle Phan as a YouTube beauty guru, making videos for her 8 million subscribers. From recording beauty tutorials in her room to launching her own cosmetic line around the world, Michelle has become a millionaire at just 27 years old. Michelle is also the co-founder of the Ipsy, which is a monthly subscription service that sends customers makeup samples. This business has become so popular, annual sales amount to $84 million. #Whoa

Katia Beauchamp and Hayley Barna; 29

In 2010, Katia Beauchamp and Hayley Barna (who met at Harvard Business School) founded the company Birchbox. Birchbox is a monthly subscription service that sends customers makeup samples and other beauty related products. According to Katia Beauchamp, this company was created to help people avoid the long lines at stores and find their ideal beauty products. 

Jennifer Carter Fleiss and Jennifer Hyman; 30

After witnessing her sister pay an outrageous amount of money for a designer dress, Jennifer Hyman, along with her friend Jennifer Fleiss, came up with a revolutionary idea that can be summed up in three words: RENT HIGH FASHION! Rent The Runway was founded in 2009 by the Harvard Business School studnets and offers women the opportunity to rent designer dresses and accessories for reasonable prices. Today, the company has over 4 million members and 200 designer partners. (P.S. Both of my prom dresses came from Rent The Runway so you trust me when I say this site is FABULOUS!)

Lauren Bush, 30

Lauren Bush is the Co-Founder, CEO and Creative Director for the non-profit FEED Projects! In partnership with the United Nations World Food Programe, FEED Projects sells FEED bags where a portion of the profits from each bag goes to help fight childhood hunger around the world. Bush came up with idea while attending Princeton as a fundraisder for the UNWFP, for which Co-Founder Ellen Gustafson was also interning at. These bags have seen and sold everywhere and continue to provide children with meals every year!

Danielle and Jodie Snyder; 27 & 30

In 2008, two sisters, Danielle and Jodie, decided to take their love of jewelry mainstream and make a successful business out of it. They introduced their pieces to major retailers under the name Dannijo and after making a call to Bergdorf Goodman, Dannijo was soon on display in stores everywhere. Dannijo is affectionately known for their boho-chic pieces and is frequently spotted on your favorite celebs during festival season at places like Coachella and Bonnaroo. 

Alexis Wolfer; 30

Founder and editor-in-chief of The Beauty Bean, Alexis Wolfer has made a name for herself as a beauty and lifestyle expert. The Beauty Bean is an online women’s magazine showcasing wellness, beauty, and fitness. Alexis has been seen on multiple television networks and has also been dubbed “The DIY Beauty Queen.”

Susan Gregg Koger, 27

Susan and her now husband Eric founded the company Modcloth, an online clothing and accessories retailer with vintage inspired fashion. While in college, Susan and Eric started the company, selling items out of their basement and now run a successful mulit-million dollar company!

Sara Blakely; 44

Even though Sara Blakely is not under the age of 30, she did become the youngest female billionaire. While in her 20s, Sara came up with the idea of starting a hosiery business after she was getting ready for a party one night and realized that she did not have the right undergarments to go under her white pants. With her creativity, Sara was able to turn her regular pantyhose into a revolutionary invention that gave her a smooth look under her pants. Today, Sara is still considered the youngest, self-made female billionaire. Spanx has multiple store locations all around the world and through her prodcuts, Sara has made sure that her company not only helps women look good but feel good.

Vanessa Hurst; 27

This CEO is making sure the future generation of girls have the ability to learn how to code, one class at a time. She co-founded Girl Develop-It, a web-site that offers “affordable and judgement-free opportunities for women interested in learning web and software development.” She is now CEO and founder of Code Montage, a website that empowers coders from all walks of life and skillset to pursue coding while connecting them to “social-good projects” at non-profits!

Stephanie Kaplan Lewis 27, Windsor Hanger 27, and Annie Wang 27

Last, but certainly not least, are the wonderful founders of Her Campus, an online magazine feautring articles on beauty, health, style, and love written by college students. These three women have developed a platform targeted specifically towards college women. After entering the i3 Innovation Challenge in 2009 and receiving the Harvard Student Agencies Investment Award, Her Campus magazine was launched. Today, Her Campus has made its way to multiple campuses across the country and we have three amazing woman to thank for that.

These women are inspirations to us all. They have taken their ideas, followed their dreams and became some of our most successful business women.
