Staying fit and healthy is hard during the winter, and motivation is key to your success. There are many elements that play a huge factor in your overall fitness. Remember that everything is a work in progress. So, don’t give up after a few days. I promise it will be worth it!

  • Stay hydrated

This is the most important aspect of health when related to fitness. Water is key to keeping hydrated, which is beneficial to your whole body. Water brightens and replenishes your skin, helps the digestive tract, and can improve your attitudes and moods throughout the day.

  •  Exercise regularly

Staying fit means that you have to work for it. Hitting the gym at least three times a week for even 30 minutes a day can improve your overall health and fitness. Planning your day can help you meet this goal easier. Set aside 30 minutes and get your heart rate above 130 beats per minute.

  • De-Stress

Stress is a major factor when it comes to mood and attitude. Release your stress with healthy ways of reading, exercising, nature seeing, going for walks, or just taking a mental break for yourself. Don’t forget to surround yourself with good people. Don’t let your stress define you; you define your stress.

  • Eat Breakfast Every day

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It starts your metabolism early in the day and continues throughout the day. Make sure your breakfast is healthy and heart happy. Eggs and toast are always a good breakfast.

  • Eat Healthy Foods

The body needs food to provide energy throughout the day. Supply your body with good, healthful options. This may mean having a sandwich and grapes for lunch, instead of a burger from McDonald’s. Staying healthy does not have to be hard. One simple way to make sure you’re eating the right foods would be to meal prep for each week.

  • Sleep

Sleep is VERY important to your overall health. You need to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night to stay healthy and happy. Sleep also helps your brain and body replenish itself for the next day’s work. Try going to bed earlier, and waking up earlier.

  • Stay Consistent

Doing these things every day can help you stay consistent and stay on track with your goals. Once you’ve done it for so long, it will feel like second nature. Providing your body with these essential needs is important and can help keep up your overall health.
