HC: What’s your first year at Miami like for you?
GF: It’s awesome! So much more than I expected and very different from what I’d imagined. I am very happy to be here!
HC: Who’s your favorite person in the entire world?
GF: My little sister aka dog, Tilly. She was a stray beagle that we rescued from the elements. I like her because she loves unconditionally and lives in the moment. She sets an example that we should all take note from.
HC: What’s one thing everyone should know about you?
GF: That if I make you a Valentine then that’s when you know it’s real.
HC: Have any advice for girls coming into Miami next year? Or college in general?
GF: No matter where you go, you will be fine! Don’t worry about not having a decided major or knowing what clubs you want to join. Everything will fall into place when it’s supposed to! Also, go ahead and get assigned a random roommate. It’s the only time you will get that experience of getting to know someone and they might even become one of your life-long friends.
HC: Favorite/least favorite thing about college?
GF: My favorite thing about college is that I am on my own and my least favorite thing is that I am on my own… I love making my own schedule and deciding how to spend my time, but I miss my mom and her cooking!
HC: Who’s your celebrity girl crush and why?
GF: Beyoncé. Does that need an explanation?
HC: If you could be anyone in your favorite TV show, who would it be and why?
GF: I would be Olivia Pope from Scandal. Her character Kerry Washington plays is beautiful, smart, independent, decisive…the list goes on.
HC: What’s your favorite decoration in your dorm room?
GF: If the decoration can be a human then it’s my roommate, Maddie LD. She is the best and our room isn’t complete without her! But if it can’t be a human, it would be a tapestry that my best friend from kindergarten got for me when she visited her family in Eritrea.
HC: And finally, what’s your biggest dream?
GF: My biggest dream is to be happy and satisfied and hopefully successful in what I end up doing. I have no idea what that will be, but I do know that I want to be happy and to make others around me happy as well.
