Name: Ashley Reed

Age: I’m feeling 22

Year: Senior

Major/Minor: Politics and Communications

Hometown: Buckhannon, West Virginia

Relationship Status: Taken

What are some of your hobbies/activities? Yoga (especially hot yoga), working out, instagramming, netflixing, and attending sporting events.

3 words to describe yourself: Indecisive, awkward, catladyingthemaking.

What is your favorite thing to do at Marymount? I truly enjoy meeting new people and just spending time with everyone that I know.

What qualities would you say stand out the most in a significant other? Loyalty, honesty, and being able to take a joke. My boyfriend is the best guy EVER because he tells me when I’m in the wrong, jokes around all the time with me, and always lets me pick what we do.

What is your most embarrassing college memory so far? It’s a toss up between my 21st birthday or freshman year orientation. At orientation, I arrived late and couldn’t put my stuff into my room so my mother decided to leave my backpack with an OL. She told me that she left it with the cutest OL so I had to play a guessing game with all the guys. I probably asked 3 guys if they had my backpack before I found the winner. Thankfully, we became friends after that.

What is something you struggle with? My biggest struggle is self-esteem. Just like every girl on this campus I get insecure very easily about myself. I was born with curves and was tormented throughout high school about it. I ended up transferring to a private high school because a girl that was supposed to be my friend made me feel horrible about myself. I suffered from an eating disorder twice before I developed a healthy self-image and a love for working out. Even though I love myself, there are still days when I wish I looked like Emma Watson. <3

Who is your favorite actor/actress and why? Definitely Emma Watson. She is classy, smart, and wonderfully talented. Plus thanks to her, every time I go home and spend the day in Pittsburgh I want to recreate the scene from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, where she’s standing in the back of the pick-up truck going through the Pitt Tunnel.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Switzerland, Sweden, Jordan, Dubai, and Iceland.

If you were stranded on a plane and there is no way to land, what is one thing you would want to have in the air with you (i.e. your phone does not work and the only food is airplane peanuts)? Holy crap, that just gave me an anxiety attack thinking about it.  I guess I’d want Netflix so I could at least take my mind off the situation and have a laugh.

If you could be a type of candy, what would you be and why?  Yogurt-covered raisins. Weird thing to choose to be but they’re so good!

Hot or Not?

  • Men with beards or Men without beards? Anybody that knows me knows that I like my men bearded.
  • Baseball players or Hockey players? BOTH! I love both sports too much to choose.

This or That?

  • Yoga pants or Real pants? Real pants even though I’m always in yoga pants going to class from the gym.
  • Wine or Beer? Wine!!!!!!!!!!!

If you could do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Some form of work that’ll improve lives. I’m about to go to law school in the fall to become a lawyer that specializes in human rights (a là Amal Clooney).

What does a night on the town look like for you? I prefer going to a restaurant like Cava or bar like La Tasca with friends for drinks and to catch up. After that we always tend to do something spur of the moment like driving around D.C. blasting Kanye West, going to the monuments at night just to walk around, or heading to a dance club to make fools out of ourselves with our lack of dance moves.

It’s Saturday night, what are you wearing? Most likely my torn J.Crew boyfriend jeans, a sweater/blouse, black heels, and Tory Burch earrings.

What is your favorite movie or book?  My favorite movie is definitely “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and my favorite book is “Glass Castle.”

Who is your MCM/E (Man Crush Monday/Everyday)? Either Eddie Redmayne or Brian Williams.

What’s your ideal date look like? Going to a baseball/hockey game, followed by dinner, and ending with a walk around the World War II Memorial.

What are your favorite qualities about others? I love when people are passionate about something, try to improve those around them, and also have sense of humor. Humor is the greatest thing in my book.

What is your favorite quote/motto?  “Don’t worry even if things end up a bit too heavy, we’ll all float on alright.” –Modest Mouse
