Supportive. Caring. Unconditional. That’s what love is supposed to be. But what happens when it comes with terms and conditions? What am I supposed to do with a love that only exists when I meet the guidelines? I rarely meet the guidelines, I don’t remember signing an agreement policy for your love. But here I am begging to be loved without meeting your requirements.

We all crave a love that’s unconditional, that fights back, that cares, that wants to be there at all costs. But sometimes the only love we’re given makes us feel subpar. Like we aren’t enough. Like we aren’t worthy of it.

There are different types of love out there. No one deserves a love with terms and conditions. A love where you have to meet someone else’s standards just to receive a love you know you deserve regardless. So why do I sit here reading over these unspoken rules of love just to get something I know I deserve?
