5 Ways to Channel Your Inner Beyoncé

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Maryland chapter.

Beyoncé is not only the queen of the beehive, but she’s also a master at being fierce! Her effortless grace and beauty make her a standout performer and role model for many. Since she’s such an inspiration, here a few ways to be amazing like her.

Find your Confidence

It’s a known fact that when Bey hits the stage, she demands the audience’s attention. She has this unique ability to engage people with not only her dance moves and strong vocals, but with her spirit as well. That captivating energy she exudes comes from her strong confidence, and you can do the same. It doesn’t have to be through artistic expression like singing or dancing, but through simple things like feeling good about yourself and using that confidence to uplift you during an exam or while you’re on a date with a guy you just met. Your confidence stems from the inside and radiates through your external appearance. So, if you believe in yourself, then you can also be flawless like Beyoncé!

Be Yourself

Beyoncé is beautiful because she is comfortable with who she is and expresses herself with outlets that make her happy. She shares her truest self through her music, making it easy for people to relate and connect with her. Like Beyoncé, you’ll feel and look your best when you embrace who you are because expressing your most genuine self brings joy and fulfillment.

Be a Trendsetter

The level of inspiration Beyoncé brings to her fans is immense. She doesn’t assimilate to the current trends spreading throughout the entertainment industry, but she sets them. Her confidence in her identity allows her to resist the norm and make groundbreaking moves. One example is when she decided to release her fifth album Beyoncé without any promotion and still acquired much success despite her unconventional choice. She also created a video for every single song on her album, which is something that’s not done very often. After the release of her unannounced album, Drake made the same move with his mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Now, you don’t have to be in the music business to be a trendsetter, but you can inspire others through other ways by simply being yourself. Act and feel the way you want because you could end up setting trends that inspire people and generate good changes to the world.

Be Fearless

Beyoncé was able to debut an album without promotion because she took a risk. She had enough courage to believe in herself and ended up having a prolific year. Despite the many doubts you will experience throughout life, you can be fearless too! During your collegiate years, there will be moments of difficulty where you might have to make challenging adult decisions. In the midst of these moments, never let fear cripple your confidence, instead be brave!

Spread Happiness

Many Beyoncé fans can say she brings them happiness with her incredible voice, well-practiced dance moves and overall spirit. The happiness she provides is an extension of her positive contributions to the world of entertainment. There are positive contributions you can make to the world as well, and like Beyoncé, you can bring people happiness. The contributions you make can be framed around the career path you choose. If you want to be a doctor, then you help people maintain good health or if you aspire to be a chef, then you create good food for people to eat. The magnitude of the contribution doesn’t matter, just the gesture itself.

So there you have it, you can’t literally be Beyoncé, but you can definitely be your best so you can feel your best and ultimately live a life that’s great for you.
