Need to step away from the desk and all of the studying from dead week? Take a break with this easy DIY for your dorm/apartment!
Â
Supplies:Â
• CanvasÂ
• Variety of paint colorsÂ
• Metallic paintÂ
• Paint brush
• Paint palette or a plastic disposable plate
• Blue painter’s tapeÂ
Â
Â
Â
Â
Step 1: Start by painting a color in random stripes on a blank canvas. Then continue to alternate colors until the canvas is fully covered in paint.Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Step 2: After the canvas is fully covered in paint, it is very important that the paint is completely dry before you put the tape on the canvas. Take the painter’s tape and tape it onto the canvas in this pattern or another pattern.Â
Â
Â
Â
Step 3: Take the tip of the paintbrush and run it along the edge of the tape to ensure the tape is stuck to the canvas. By doing this, it will ensure the metallic paint doesn’t leak under the tape. Â
Â
Â
Â
Step 4: Take metallic paint and paint it all over the canvas. Repeat until the metallic paint isn’t transparent (you could use white or black instead of metallic paint).Â
Â
Â
Â
Step 5: Once the metallic paint is completely dry, peel off the tape gently and reveal your masterpiece.Â
