The Best Week of the Year! (Except Not at All)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marshall chapter.

It’s officially the least stressful week of the entire year! Of course, I’m only kidding, because we all know what week it is – advance scheduling for the spring semester. What does this mean? Well for those of us who enjoy going to sleep at 10 p.m. on weekdays, it means staying up an extra two hours just so you can secure your spot in a class you HAVE to have. It means that you may be spending hours trying to figure out which classes will fit into what time slots. It also means that you get to deal with the slowest website on the planet (sorry Marshall, but it often takes up to 5 minutes for the course schedule to load). Aside from scheduling, you’re worrying about getting those last projects ready, because teachers seem to love throwing huge assignments at you all at one time and all right before Thanksgiving break.

My advice for this week? Take a deep breath. Once you make it through this week, you won’t have to worry about next semester until, well, next semester. Be sure to have your schedule ready way ahead of time, and also make sure you have filler classes ready in case you hit submit at 12:01 a.m. and your classes have been filled by all those wonderful people who were able to submit their courses at exactly midnight and not a second later. Be sure to check out the PEL classes, too. Most of them are only 8 weeks long and can provide an easy A (I recommend yoga because it really helps you to de-stress). Relax, and try not to schedule any Friday classes, because what fun is that?

Good luck scheduling, collegiettes! We are almost through the semester!
