Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Louisville chapter.

Use this warm and soothing chicken noodle soup to cozy up during quarantine!

This recipe does call for bone-in skin-on chicken breast, meaning it will take a bit longer to cook, however it yields the most perfect chicken broth for the best soup!

Ingredients:

  • 3 bone-in skin-on chicken breasts

  • 2 cans of chicken broth

  • 1 bag of baby carrots

  • 1 stalk of celery

  • 1 sliced yellow onion

  • 1 bag of egg noodles

  • 1 bunch of fresh parsley

  • 3 bay leaves

  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp black pepper

  • Red pepper flakes to taste

  • 2 tbsp of minced garlic

Directions:

1. Bring onion, celery, and minced garlic to a boil

2. Add chicken and boil for 25 minutes

3. Take chicken out, add the carrots, and boil for 20 minutes

4. Shred chicken and add to pot along with seasoning

5. Boil pasta in another pot and cook according to bag

6. Mix together and enjoy
