New year, new me.

January 1st is normally the time when many people try to reinvent themselves. Some call it a rebrand, but the beginning of the year isn’t the only time to do it. You can do it anytime, but with summer coming up, what better time than now? Want to learn how to become a better version of yourself? Here are the steps I’m taking to rebrand and you can follow along!

I’m a crafty person who needs everything written down to stay organized. I was scrolling on TikTok and found a trend called life binders. A life binder is a physical binder with sections to track your progress. You can add a variety of categories, making it fully customizable. Making a life binder is the biggest part of my rebrand so I’ll be guiding you through the process, but if you don’t want a binder, don’t worry! You can still follow along with these steps, and you can still have a successful rebrand.

The first step in the process is to plan. Plan out what categories you want or need in your binder, or what areas you want to grow in. This is also where you can just write out a rebrand plan. Include some goals, what you want to look like and/or feel like, and how you are going to complete this rebrand.

Some ideas for the sections you could make in the binder are:

  • Identity: This is a section where you could build the identity and person you want to become. This doesn’t have to be a complete 180. Stay true to yourself when deciding who you want to become, but you could add phrases such as “I will be confident and consistent.” These types of manifestation phrases and mantras are a good way to build the person you want to be!
  • Goals: Use this section to outline your goals. This could be summer goals, goals for exercise, goals for the upcoming school year, or all of the above. Think about what you want to achieve during this rebrand, and remember, every accomplishment is something to be proud of!
  • Daily Systems: Use this section to write down your routines and reset plans. This can be something you reference each day to give yourself a reminder of what you need to do. This can be as simple or complex as you want. It should be something to make you feel good!
  • Hobbies: This is just a fun section where you can write down your hobbies and things related to them. For example, if you are an avid reader, write down your to-be-read list, or keep track of the books you’ve already read. Really have fun with this section!
  • Wellness: This section can include whatever supports your well-being. It could have weekly and monthly reflections, habit trackers, fitness routines, anything you think you might need to help improve your wellness.

Now that you have planned out your categories, you can start building your binder. When it comes to building a binder, you can make it as simple or complex as you want. If you want to get really creative in Canva, go for it, but if you want to keep it simple you can actually just write down all of your categories on paper. However you choose to do it, it is important to check it often. You can’t begin to rebrand and improve your life if you aren’t consistent.

Once you have everything planned and in writing now you can begin your glow-up and rebrand journey. Now, it is important to remember that this glow up, rebrand, or new identity won’t happen overnight. It will take some time, and there will be ups and downs during the process. The most important thing to remember is to stay consistent and stay on top of your goals. Even if you feel unmotivated, check your binder or rebrand plan. You can modify your routines and resets to fit how you are feeling or you can write in a specific plan for when you’re having an off day.

Either way, know that off days will happen because we’re human. You don’t have to let it stop your progress. Just take a breath and keep going, because you’re going to love the outcome.
