The Power of Nature: When You Feel Lost, Get Lost in Nature

By YI-FANG WANG

Are you a nature lover? To what extent do you love it? Do you feel nature is the place that draws your attention out of the struggles, the dilemmas and the wounds you have? If you do, you are not alone.

Your Worries are Merely the Size of a Grain of Sand.

I love overlooking the nature views by hiking because my horizons are broader. My eyes guide me to see the creativity of Nature, and distract my focus away from the bothering matters. At those moments, the worries are, compared to the vast of the motherland, only the size of a grains of sand. Toss them into the water or bury them in the soil before you go back home.

Plans Don’t Work Out? Why Not Just Follow Your Instinct?

Making plans eases our nerves so that we don’t feel our live are out of control. But, when wandering in nature, sometimes, follow your instinct, the unexpected just might tickle your fancy.

While traveling in Custer State Park, U.S.A., I was fortunate to hear and see a field of prairie dogs making sounds and playing hide and seek when I rode the bike on the path which I randomly picked up. There, I was biking up to a hill and all of a sudden, beautiful views of lush hills of grass emerged in front of me. I felt so lucky to witness all the unexpected natural beauty.

Lower Your Ego, Respect and Appreciate.

Roaming in nature, it often gives me the chance to remind myself that, you are one part of nature, but don’t try to manipulate it. By showing respect to the wild animals, they won’t hurt you. When I was a cashier in the gift shop in the national park in U.S, I could still hear news of tourists attacked by buffalo even if posts of warning were hanging as reminders.

By walking into Nature, I learn to let go of my worries, I try to trust my instincts, and I feel grateful. Nature provides me power when I am lost.

I love seeing the world in different perspectives. I work hard, study hard and travel hard. In 2017, after working as a full-time English teacher at a local Taiwanese Middle School, I decided to set my foot on UK and do my master’s degree in Communication and Media. Also, I started to blog and vlog my bitter-sweet life. See you on my YouTube Channel: The Yixperience 對於說中文或是正在學中文的朋友,歡迎你們到我的YouTube,粉專和部落格看更多分享唷!
