I look at my bed and a tired smile appears on my face. Over my bed is my red baggage, full until the bare closing limit, and around it, all the things that still need to be packed inside.

The Easter Break arrived in the perfect moment. Over the last two weeks I suffered the worst mental pressure that I could have possibly imagined. All of my professors had the apparently good idea of assigning large essays for the same deadline. I can’t decide which aspect is the worst: the fact that there were three papers, the fact that they represent practically half of my entire module mark or the fact that I had never ever written that much in a foreign language. I was terrified and I am not kidding about it.

I had a bright and optimistic plan: I was going to use all my free time to finish them so many days ahead of the deadline… Yeah sure. Two precious weekends disappeared in Edward Boyle Library and only left on me the feeling of not knowing what I was doing at all. Finally, I gathered the courage (the time was on me actually), wrote my lovely papers and submitted them with not so many minutes left from the deadline. The good part is that I actually feel proud of the result, I really liked how my papers turned out; now we’ll wait for the marks…

Since the submission day passed, I feel that the days are brighter, I hear the birds sing and a constant smile stays on my face, especially because… The Easter Break started!

I have everything ready: my passport, my camera, my iPod is fully charged and a boarding pass rests on my desk along with my sunglasses (that I’m finally going to use!)

I enjoyed every minute of the packing process: that mix of light stress and an uncontrollable joy for the moment of departure. I was very optimistic when I placed on my bed my entire wardrobe, but now my suitcase is almost closed.

I had the last meal in my residence, my fridge shelf is empty and my room is as organized and tidy as it has never been. I leave England for the first time since I arrived; our first stop is Dublin. Me and friends will enjoy a memorable Saint Patrick’s Day. Next we head south to the beautiful (as they say) city of Cork. And the most waited destination follows Ireland: Spain.

We’ll land on the Baleares Islands to enjoy the beach of Mallorca and will end our trip in Seville, in perfect timing to attend the Holy Week events. I am counting the few hours remaining for our first flight! And do you know what scary me the most? The fact that all of our flights are from Ryanair… I have not heard nice comments about it, so just wish us luck!
