Celebrity Style Blog: The Best… And The Worst Dressed of the NTA Awards

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Leeds chapter.

The National Television Awards (NTA) is the one time of year all TV stars, from soap to drama, come together to celebrate the best of British Television, and dress to impress in their finest gowns. Although, as we all know too well, some do a better job than others. There are those that turn heads for their glamour and elegance, whilst others turn heads for all the wrong reasons (including PVC dresses and far too much cleavage.)  The NTA Awards took place last week on the 21st January, but don’t worry if you missed it as we’re here to bring to you the top best and worst dressed celebs of 2015’s red carpet.

BEST DRESSED

Irish MTV presenter Laura Whitmore wows in in this chic patterned maxi dress, paired with a simple gold circular necklace. She transforms the look from hippy chick to classy with an elegant hair up do and red lip.

Amanda Holden has had her ups and downs in fashion, but we would definitely agree that this is an up. She may be 43, but Amanda works this slightly revealing yet elegant backless gown and shows off her amazing figure. Even though Britain’s Got Talent didn’t manage to win an award this year, Amanda grabbed her own award from Fashion Finder for this perfect outfit.

Emmerdale’s Sammy Winward looked as glam as ever, sporting a pale pink halter-neck gown designed by Nadine Merabi’s Ono Uno. She accessorised with a beaded clutch. The star had every reason to celebrate as the show won the Best Serial Drama Award. Sadly, Katie will be departing from Emmerdale shortly, with final scenes of her expected to air in February.

WORST DRESSED

Hollyoaks’ actress Stephanie Davies takes our prize for worst dressed, channelling Morticia Addams in this black lace fishtail gown. Whilst we know that fashion is all about revealing your inner self, Stephanie is revealing a little too much in this dress that barely covers her bum cheeks.

We hear that it took The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Sims numerous attempts to fit into this raunchy PVC number. Sorry Chlo, but we think you should have saved yourself the effort. You look more like you are supporting the new launch of 50 shades than TOWIE!

OK, so we know it’s hard to find the right outfit to cover up that baby bump. But I’m not so sure that Broadchurch actress Jodie Whittaker has the right idea with a huge bow on a half- painted black dress! Although, we have to admit that her makeup looks flawless.
