The Tuesday following Thanksgiving, November 29th, 2022, is known to many as Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a time to give back during the holiday season. If you can, donate your time or money. If you have some time to give, here are some organizations you should consider supporting…

Cards for Hospitalized Patients

If you have some craft supplies sitting around your house, consider making some cards for patients in your local hospital or childrens’ hospital. Cards for Hospitalized Kids is an organization that sends encouraging cards out to children’s hospitals. You can make homemade cards for the holidays and send them to the address listed on their website. From there, your cards will be distributed to children’s hospitals to spread holiday cheer. Gather some of your friends together, turn up the holiday tunes, and make a bunch!

Local Food Bank

Research your local food pantry, and see if they are accepting volunteers. Organizations like The Greater Boston Food Bank are great places to give your time to fight food insecurity. Even if you do not have time to donate, see if you have any food products you can drop off at the food pantry.

Fight Clothing Insecurity

Cradles to Crayons is an organization throughout the United States that helps children facing poverty. It provides them with clothing and other resources they may need. They are accepting volunteers at many of their locations. If there’s not a Cradles to Crayons in your area, research to see if there’s a similar organization you can volunteer at.

This Giving Tuesday and entire holiday season, reflect on your values and give back to your community. Research other nonprofit organizations in your area and get involved! You are helping others while making yourself feel good!
