Olivia Addington is a sophomore from Orange, California and studies Communication. “I came to Boston because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone,” said Addington. “I knew this might be my only opportunity to really explore the rest of the country, so I took it. I also loved the idea of being so close to a big city like Boston. I could go to school in a quiet neighborhood and be more surrounded by nature, but then be able to take a train into the city and explore. It was the perfect fit for me.”
Addington hopes that in 10 years she will be married and living in a city similar to Boston. She also hopes to work for a public relations or advertising firm.
If you think she looks familiar, you’ve probably seen her on the volleyball court or giving tours around campus. Addington plays the position of outside hitter for the women’s volleyball team. Along with being on the volleyball team, Addington is a part of the Honors Program, The 1851 Chronicle and the Blue Key Society, part of Lasell’s admissions department.
“I like the people I work with in admissions and the idea that, by me talking to someone or giving them a tour, I can help impact them positively on their impression of the school,” said Addington. With the Blue Key Society she gives guided tours around campus and calls prospective students.
“I enjoy keeping myself busy. Being involved also allows me to meet different people I wouldn’t normally meet,” Addington said.
Addington has a very bubbly and unique personality. She was recognized for her unique personality, winning the “Most Unique” award in middle school. Addington also was willing to share that she can make spot on pterodactyl noises, roll her stomach, and is obsessed with Marvel and Disney films.
