Emalee’s Junior Year Dorm Tour: Forest Halls

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Last year, I did a dorm tour in a victorian home as part of Lasell’s campus. This year, I moved to one of the suite-style dorms at Lasell and if you were ever wondering what the suite-style dorms are like at Lasell here is my room tour!

When you first walk in there is our little kitchenette on the left. We have a sink, microwave, fridge, and of course our Keurig!

Down on the left, we have our bathrooms and when you walk down the hallway that leads into our living room and dining room table, you see our coat rack, shoe mat, and Lasell flag. #laserpride.

We have many plants and flowers on the table and windowsill to bring more life to the living room and dining room. We also have pillows on the windowsill from Primark to give it a more cozy feel. I have been loving this color combination of gold and blush pink, so I thought it was a great addition to the room! We also have a few Halloween decorations around our room to make it homier. We have also had heart-shaped and star-shaped lights from Primark to add wall decor and a cozy feel.

We have a lot of wall space and an easy way to take up some of that is tapestries. If you read my dorm tour last year, you might recognize my beach scene one from last year!

This year again, I live in a double. Our room is pretty spacious and we each have a desk, bed, closest, and drawers. My bed is right next to the window, which is really nice because it opens up the room even more.

Again, I have some flowers in our room to add life. Another way to take up more wall space is making collages. It is pretty inexpensive to print out your own pictures. I have a collection of personal photos on one of my closet doors that I took over the summer because I also really like taking photos in my free time. Another collage idea is postcards, which are also inexpensive, photo from magazines or the internet. This is how the collage is above my desk. I also like collages because I can keep adding to them throughout the year. I also love finding inspirational quotes wall decor to hang on the walls. Also, one of my inspirations is Audrey Hepburn, as you can tell, and I have a few wall decor pieces of her. I think it is important to stay organized and keep your space clean, so you can stay focused when you are doing work in your room. A good tip on how to do this is utilizing the space under your bed to store stuff in crates. I also like using little organizers on my desk like the Halloween bucket I have from Target.

I hope this gave you some room inspiration or helped if you are planning on moving into one of the dorms like this because I know I am always curious what the room set up is like before I move into somewhere new!
