Bethany Lemieux: Lending Athletes a Helping Hand

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

We’re closing out the year with a Celeb like no other. You’ve probably seen her blonde head around campus or working the desk in the gym. Bethany Lemieux is a junior majoring in athletic training. She plans on working with a Division II or Division III college as an assistant athletic trainer, then working her way up to being an athletic trainer at a Division I school.

Lemieux is the president of the Athletic Training Club and plans on developing the club to become a more prominent organization on campus. “I want the club to become more involved around campus,” says Lemieux, “by taking part in different events and holding some of our own.” Lemieux ran for, and was appointed, secretary last year, and was voted co-president this semester in order to take over the club in the spring. “One of AT club’s priorities is to spread awareness and show people what we actually do,” she says. Lemieux hopes that eventually the members of the club can educate Lasell’s campus as a whole about athletic trainers and how they help people.

Lemieux has a passion for helping people, and she hopes to do this through athletic training. “It is a growing career,” she says. “And many people don’t know how important being an athletic trainer really is.”

Lemieux wishes to use her passion for helping people by using the skills she learns as an athletic training major to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate injuries suffered by athletes. “Being part of an athlete’s support system and helping them through a vulnerable time is something that can create a huge impact in their lives,” she says.

Lemieux is a do-gooder like no other. She’s always willing to help anyone who has a question about an injury, or if they just want to know what type of workout would target a specific muscle group. This passionate future athletic trainer will do big things. We just know it.
