This is one of the most popular societies here at Lancaster. There’s no better way to meet new people and express yourself than on the sensual rhythms of Latin music. Totally recommended, especially if you are a rather shy person, because having a good time amongst other pairs of dancers can help you discover yourself better and make you feel more comfortable in a sea of people where positive vibes and smiles reign!
Q: Why didn’t the skeleton dance at the disco?
A: Because he had no body to dance with.
Even if it’s Halloween time, when scary things can happen, like attending dance classes and having no partners to dance with, at the LU Salsa Society there’s no need to worry- you’ll always have a few partners to choose from!
#2. MARKETING SOCIETY
It’s fun, it’s skills, it’s challenges, it’s brands and games! The Marketing Society gives you amazing chances to get hands-on experience and improve the brand-you! You can assist at talks given by representatives of famous companies leading in certain industries and receive first-hand info and backstage tips. You can even pitch yourself to become a brand ambassador as is the case of Unilever; Unilever chooses and trains its Power Teams of on-campus student promoters and you’ll be sure to party with the coolest crew at the fanciest socials. Sounds like this is the dream network to be in, doesn’t it? Simply an A*-mark soc, ‘nuff said! You know you wanna join!
#3. COUNTRYSIDE SOCIETY
Forget about the treadmill at the gym… The mainstream bike you ride everywhere- you’re not in the Netherlands!… The broomstick – you’re NOT a wizard, (Harry)!… and explore Lancashire’s hidden treasures on horse! The rides take you on winding paths lost in the forests, across crystal-clear rivers; definitely a journey worth embarking on with your friends for a break in between study hours! Horseback riding ticks them all: keeping in shape, relaxing your mind, and opening your eyes to the unexpected beauty of the local scenery!

Always been captivated by bringing an in idea to life? Then the Project Management Society is here to assist you in doing just that through a variety of projects and events! Cultural festivals in partnership with other societies on campus, fundraising activities to support your favorite charities; from BBC Children in Need to Barnardo’s, and adrenaline-pumping games are only a few of the option PMers have on their regularly to-do list!
#5. MAKING MEMORIES
Life is all about meaning and meaning is all about celebrating life and its ups and downs! Making Memories is exactly about reminding the ones around us that the irreversibility of time should be used in the favor of making each second count. This is why MM is trying to raise funds and forward them to families where there are cases of members in the terminal phase of cancer. The money raised through different creativity-engaging events held on a regular basis, is then, re-directed to those who would like to use it to capture special moments in their minds and hearts together with those whom they will soon only meet again in the depth of their minds…
