I feel like there’s a deep love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. You either really love celebrating with your significant other or gal pals or you really despise all the mushy posts and avoid going out and going on social media at all costs!

Regardless of your feelings about V-Day it’s incredibly important to show yourself and others around you some love! So here are some post V-Day self care ideas, to continue to spread the love long after the “holiday”.
  1. Spa day Whether you actually book an appointment at your local spa or just head to Target and get your own charcoal masks and mani/pedi kits, a spa day is the PERFECT way to show your body some love!
  2. Girls’ night in!
One of my personal favorites to show my girls I care, is to plan a movie night in where we watch all the classics (The Notebook, duhhh) and order some food and just cuddle up in blankets and take in all that is Ryan Gosling! If you’re feeling really crazy you could even head out to 21 Choices before calling it a night!
Personally, I would take this over any night out! PJ’s, movies and my friends? SOLD
  3. Hikes Show your body some love by taking a hike like the Claremont Loop- not only do you get that cardio and leg workout in but you can also show your instagram some love with some fantastic photos!
  4. Shopping spree While this may not be doing any favors to your wallet, your heart and your closet will greatly appreciate a nice little spree. I know I’m instantly in a better mood when I update my wardrobe.
  5. Reading
Show your mind and your local Barnes and Noble some love by picking up a fun book and immersing yourself in a new world where you can escape daily life when you need to!
This is perhaps my favorite way to self love: i meet amazing new friends through characters and travel to countless worlds through the pages of my novels!
