Love Yourself

You stand in front of the mirror,

Despising everything you see,

Picking out every error.

Never letting yourself be filled with glee.

The words stab at your heart,

Decreasing your self-worth.

But they see you as a work of art. 

Letting you know you have been loved since birth.

Their music fills your ears,

“Love yourself” is their message.

It eases all your fears,

Despite it being in their distinct language.

With each day that passes by,

You slowly start to love every flaw.

Even though you sometimes cry,

You are still left in awe.

You have come so far.

If it was not for their music,

Would you have discovered who you truly are?
