My Goals for a Great 2019

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

This is probably the most basic thing that could be written around this time, but I decided to anyway because, honestly, I need to be held accountable.

Every year I make goals, and by week three, they’re a thing of the past. This year I’m (hopefully) going to change that. For now, my goals are general and in the process of being made, but I wanted to share them so I’d at least start thinking of them now rather than halfway through 2019.

Working out Consistently

Yeah, it’s a cliché, but it’s one that I’ve half started now anyway. Working out has been something that I’ve started to enjoy doing again, whether it’s running on the treadmill to my favorite tunes or doing a whole exercise class.

Reading More

My “things to read” stack has gotten WAY out of hand. This year I want to start getting through some of them rather than allowing them to collect dust.

Starting Meditation

This is something that I always put off because I don’t have enough time (or some other nonsense), but this year I’m going to give it an actual shot and see if it benefits me.

Saving Money

There’s one vacation I want to go on this summer, and in order to do that, I need some money (shocker, right?). This year I’m going to (try to) cut down on treating myself so I can accomplish that.

Continuing to Volunteer

This is one of the most rewarding things I’ve done this year. I volunteer every month at the Lawrence Humane Society and I love it! It’s definitely something I want to continue to do as long as I have the time for it.
