With the weather becoming nicer, so should your playlists. Get rid of some of the depressing, sad winter songs and move on to the more upbeat songs.

Starting off with a big hit right now is “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” by Role Model. With the release of his deluxe version of “Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye),” Role Model used this song on Tik Tok to promote this release. Now it is loved by many fans and is a fun song to up the mood.

Spring = more social outings. But are you hyped enough to? I know Drake is canceled, and I am a BIG Kendrick fan, but “Nokia” is a very hype song. Nice weather, windows down, blasting music? Yes, but only if “Nokia” is on and blasting.

To balance out the Drake song, we HAVE to add a Kendrick Lamar hit. “30 For 30,” By SZA, featuring Kendrick Lamar is an upbeat song, yet about self-respect and trying to have peace, which is something we all need this spring.

“Scar Tissue,” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the more upbeat songs, but obviously with a hidden, darker meaning. This is all of us in the spring — positive and energetic from the nicer weather, but finishing the battle with the winter demons.

Adding “Gypsy,” by Fleetwood Mac is a given. Earlier this week, my friends and I headed out to Clinton Lake, driving with the windows down over the bridge and blasting this song. This was a favorite memory so far this spring semester, and I would recommend adding this to your playlist so you can also have a memory as fond as this.

My final recommendation is the entirety of “Harry’s House.” This album screams spring to me and is a go-to album when I do not know what I should listen to. A favorite is “Grapejuice,” but I also love a good “Keep Driving” moment.
