Fashion Trends As Told By Throwback Disney Shows

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

There were a few television shows that defined the 90’s and early 2000’s. These were the shows that got us through middle school and high school. Although some of the fashion was cringe worthy, other trends are making comebacks in the modern fashion world. Whether you agree they should have stayed in the last decade or not, here are the trends that have made recent comebacks.

Lizzie McGuire

The choker is one the biggest comeback trends from the early 2000’s. Lizzie reminds us that a simple accessory can go a long way.

Hannah Montana

Miley Stewart’s cold shoulder shirt was a fashion risk when we were middle schoolers. Now, this trend can be seen everywhere, making it pretty easy to pull off.

Cheetah girls

Denim has always been an everyday essential. Sabrina chose to wear her denim miniskirt years ago with platforms and a zip-up hoodie. Since then, the denim skirt has become one of the biggest comeback trends in recent years. Let’s just hope cheetah print stays for years to come.

Suite Life of Zack and Cody

The t-shirt under a tank top is a major fashion statement. Maddie, the Tipton Hotel’s candy counter girl, pulled this trend off with ease. The pink ruffled shirt could easily be replaced with something a little more modern.

That’s So Raven

Since Raven could see into the future, she probably saw this one coming. The scrunchie has somehow made its reemergence into mainstream fashion. The trend that defined the 80s and the 90s is back for another decade.

Full House

America’s favorite family since the Brady Bunch served its own fair share of fashion inspiration. Take Becky’s high-waisted denim for example, one of the most versatile comeback trends yet.
