It’s no secret that I never truly experienced the magic of falling snow until I came to Kenyon. Sure, I’d seen snow and built tiny, truly miniscule snowmen whenever the opportunity presented itself. But its’ different here. There’s something really beautiful about watching the snow pile up in Gambier and witnessing the coming of the snowy season.

To me, Winter is Kenyon. It is snowflakes falling on my XXL red scarf as I walk down middle path. It is warming up my hands with a cup of green tea while I head to Finn House for class. It is treading down the KAC hill as I feel my limbs freeze. It is entering Bushnell after a long time outside, heaving a sigh of relief and wondering why I chose live in a place where the air hurts my face.

It truly is the time to enjoy nature before the cold and the snow get to be too much to bear (aka, before February arrives and we all consider transferring to a college in California). So, I’ve compiled a snowfall playlist to put you in the mood for snowball fights, Chef Meagan’s special chai tea, and, let’s face it, cozy afternoons spent studying on the third floor Olin study rooms.
