10 Mouth-Watering Recipes for the Fall Season!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

Here we are, it’s finally October. As soon as the first leave dropped, you could feel the knee high boots, plaid, and the pumpkin spice lattes a’brewin. If you’re not a fan of this time of year, all I can say is: if you can’t beat them, join’ em! I, for one, love Fall and not just for the pumpkin! (Seriously, have you seen Kenyon’s Fall weather? It’s perfection!) I also love it for all the amazing flavors that come out of it. It’s time to say goodbye to watermelon, berries, barbeque sauce, and fresh tomatoes, and to move on to butternut squash, apple, and everyone’s all-time fave, pumpkin. So, I’m giving you some of the best recipes we’ve found to help bring Fall into full effect. (And surprise: there’s more than just pumpkin!) Since October is the 10th month of the year you’ll get 10 Fall recipes. Enjoy!

1. No Bake Pumpkin Spice Latte Bites: This is a healthier spin on the regular PSL. It’s gluten-free and vegan! So, you can get your pumpkin spice flavor without all the guilt of downing an entire pumpkin pie.

2. Salted Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Crinkle Cookies: It’s also time for caramel! Bring in the season with some delicious salted caramel. And you can heat these up and pair it with vanilla bean ice cream and you’re set!

3. Candy Corn Infused Vodka: For the big kids (meaning, those over 21), here’s the perfect October celebratory treat. Because if you didn’t get the memo: Halloween is coming! Having a party? Make a nice batch of this to get everyone in the spooky spirit.

4. Salted Caramel Apple Hand Pies: IT’S APPLE PICKING SEASON! Go out there with a ladder and get all of the apples to make these delicious treats. Too difficult? Here’s a simple applesauce recipe you can easily make in your college kitchen.

5. Sweet Potato Pie Bars: This is one of my favorite food blogs! Handle the Heat has been rolling out some AMAZING recipes for Fall foods. Nothing says Autumn quite like sweet potatoes!

6. Pumpkin Nutella Crepe Cake: I officially present the holiest of all pumpkin foods. This right here is my relationship goal for the month.

7. Butternut Squash and Spinach Lasagna: If you’re looking for a more savory dish, it’s time to bring out the butternut squash. It’s filled with all kinds of vitamins and it’s delicious!

8. Apple Crisp Stuffed Baked Apples: Do I need to tell you about this magic? Do I? Or, how about you just make it? Trust me on this one. It’s worth it.

9. Roasted Fall Veggie Pizza with Ricotta Cheese: Root veggies are the way to go during Fall. And when you roast them, you bring out the sweet flavors! Put them on a pizza and you’re set. (Also, shoutout to the OG chef, Martha Stewart, for giving us this tip!)

10. Vegan No-Bake Pumpkin Pie: I thought we’d end where it all began: the classic pumpkin pie. If you aren’t vegan, just use a normal crust. But this one has a date-almond crust and only takes 30 minutes to make. Let it set overnight and dig in! Happy Fall everybody!
