As 2019 comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on this year’s trends. This year, beauty has taken steps away from the days of harsh “Instagram makeup.” More beauty enthusiasts are choosing natural brows over sharp pomade, glowy skin over matte powder, and unique eye looks over the uniform liner and lashes. Whether the look is natural or bold, it’s trended this year. Keep reading for the year in review: beauty edition.

Euphoria makeup

HBO’s Euphoria inspired a new wave of creative eye looks, full of bright liners, gemstones and glitter. Click here to see our favorite looks from the show.

Natural Brows

Put the Anastasia Beverly Hills pomade away and stop waxing – natural brows are in again. Try a pencil and gel to get the look.

K-Beauty

Take a note from Korean beauty and try lip tints, thin liner and straighter brows.

Blush

While 2016-2018 was the height of heavy contouring, this year blush reigned supreme. Add on your cheeks and nose for a little extra color.

Glass Skin

Another Korean beauty look, glass skin took Instagram by storm this year. Try a combo of light foundation and highlight to achieve a dewy face.
