At what age did you start swimming? How did you learn?
I’ve been in the pool since I was a year old. When I was four my mom and dad taught me in our outside pool.
How did swimming become such a huge part of your life?
My dad and sister were both swimmers so I naturally did swim team too when I was younger and quickly fell in love with the sport.
How did you get involved with JMU Club Swimming?
I signed up at student org night
What does a typical practice or meet look like?
Practice is everyday from 4-5:30. It’s very laid back with everyone goofing around. Meets are long, but fun. Everyone is always cheering teammates on.
Have you won any awards for swimming? Is so, how many and for what?
I’ve broken individual and relay records since I was 8…probably around 15 records. I was third in the state my sophomore year of high school, won MVP senior year, and high point award 5 different years for summer league.
Who or what inspires you to keep swimming? Why?
I like it because I like being in the water and being around my teammates who are now my friends.
What is your biggest advice for those looking to implement a healthy lifestyle?
Try various activities/sports and find something you enjoy.
What is your biggest swimming achievement?
Probably being on a relay that got third in the state sophomore year of high school

Cheerleading-6th through 9th grade
Do you think you’ll be involved with club swimming for your whole college career? Why or why not?
Definitely, I can’t imagine not swimming. The people in club swim are some of my favorite people I’ve met here at JMU. They are so funny and I love hanging out with them.
How do you balance your time between school, work, and swimming?
I don’t sleep much haha

No
Have you ever thought about having a career in swimming? Why or why not?
No 1) I don’t like swimming that much to make it my entire life 2) I want a career where I can help others
Do you think you’ll continue swimming after college? Why or why not?
Yes-it’s great exercise and I just enjoy being in the pool
