Do you have a bad case of spring fever? Here are the best activities to do in Philadelphia this spring:
Picnic in Rittenhouse SquarePark
Historic Rittenhouse Square Park is at the heart of the city and a perfect location for your next spring outing. Having a picnic with friends is an underrated yet overly enjoyable activity to try. Especially as it gets warmer outside and natures feel like it is coming back to life, spending time in Rittenhouse Square while eating a picnic lunch is a perfect way to spend the day.
Hike on the Wissahickon Trail
The warm sun beating down on my skin through the newly budding tree branches makes me feel like I am in heaven. Walking along the Wissahickon River on these majestic trails is truly the best way to spend any spring day. Soaking in the sights, sounds, and smells of nature is an unmatched experience, especially in the spring when everything is beginning to thaw out and show its true beauty. I absolutely love the Wissahickon trail and cannot wait to experience it in the springtime. You can never go wrong with some warm spring fresh air!
Attend a Phillies Game
The magic of Philadelphia sports is unmatched, and watching a Phillies game is no expectation! During the spring, when it starts to get warm watching a baseball game at Citizens Bank Park is a fantastic way to spend the day! The energy and the vibe are unmatched at any Philadelphia sporting game!
Visit an Outdoor Farmers Market
As the temperature warms up and the sun peeks out, outdoor farmers markets begin to reopen after their winter hiatus. Local vendors sell everything from fruits and vegetables to homemade sourdough bread and much more. Craft vendors also often attend these markets with many cute and creative items for sale. I have often found local artists selling Philadelphia-themed items that are just so cute!
Watch A Regatta on the Schuylkill River
In the springtime, you can watch a Regatta every weekend on the Schuylkill River. Most of these Regattas are a weekend-long rowing competition that includes high school, college, and master rowing divisions. These races are high-energy and always extremely exciting to watch. During the Regatta along the river on Kelly Drive there is a massive “festival” for all the teams and fans. This is the hub of the activity and is such a cool place to visit. Attending a regatta on the Schuylkill is an awesome experience for anyone looking to try something new and have a great weekend side quest this spring!
