Wardrobe Staple: White Button Down Shirt

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IUP chapter.

This fashion series is one that I feel is very important. Trends are great as they give us an opportunity to try new things and add some flair to our wardrobe. And as much as I love some of the Spring trends of the season, I feel that wardrobe staples are way more important than what Women’s Wear Daily tells us is hot at the moment.

The first staple that I feel every fashionista needs to have in her closet is the white button down shirt. You can dress the white shirt up or down, add or subtract accessories and always guarantee that you look fabulous. Here are a few looks you can try right now to make that white shirt pop!

Look One:

White button down with colored jeans. Whether the jeans are a primary color or a pastel, a white button down can take your look to new heights.

Look Two:

White button down paired with a pencil skirt makes you look sophisticated and professional. A colored pencil skirt gives you a little extra oomph!

Look Three:

White button down matched with skinny jeans and heels! This look easily transitions from day to night. Throw some shades on to complete the stunna look!

Look Four:

White button down with a cardigan and belt. This look can go from the classroom to cocktails with the girls very easily.

Look Five:

White Button down and short shorts! This look can be great for date night. Show off a little leg this season!

Stay tuned for the next wardrobe staple in our series; the Clutch!
