My Favorite Ways to Destress During Finals

With finals week upon us, everyone is stressed out, studying, and overthinking if they will pass or fail. I thought I would share my personal favorite ways to destress.

Dance It Out

My favorite way to destress is to dance it out, similar to Meredith and Christina (if there are any Grey’s Anatomy fans reading). I put my headphones on, play my favorite music, and just dance it out in my room. You don’t have to be a good dancer to do this; trust me on that, my moves are horrendous. You can do this with friends, by yourself, in the car, or even in the dining hall if you are feeling a little crazy (you may get a few weird looks though, if you do it in the dining hall).

Hang With Friends

Another way is to just take a break and hang out with your friends! You can see a movie (which is also nice to do alone), go grab something to eat, or just have a chill night with them! Breaks are a necessity when it comes to studying; pushing yourself too hard is a real thing. If it’s cold, and if there is enough snow on the ground, go out with your friends and play in the snow. Some people may say that playing in the snow is for children, but I’m almost 21 and I still love making snow angels, having snowball fights, and making snowmen!

Yoga

Do some yoga!! Recently, I started doing yoga; nothing too extreme, and it is very helpful. Yoga can be used just as a workout, or just to decrease your stress levels. You can find lots of YouTube videos on yoga for beginners, or there are probably places around you that offer yoga classes!! Here is a YouTube video that I use most of the time!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7AYKMP6rOE This YouTuber focuses mainly on yoga in all of her videos, and they are very helpful!!

That is all I have for now!! I wish you the best of luck during finals!! Remember not to push yourself too hard and to take breaks!!
