Favorite Comfort Foods: Fall Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IUP chapter.

Here we are! Fall. Crisp air. Crunchy leaves. Beautiful colors. Cute tops. All things we love but the best thing: COMFORT FOODS. Here are a couple of my favorite comfort foods for the fall days in.

Shepherd’s Pie

Shepherd’s pie to me is different from other people. My mom makes it with ground beef, potatoes, and peas. These are all layered, baked, and topped with gravy. SOO good and so nice to have on a cold day!

Meatloaf

Let me tell you about meatloaf. Meatloaf is my all-time favorite food for any season. However, this is gravy season therefore it is also meatloaf season. If you don’t like a good homecooked meatloaf someone is making it wrong for you!

Soup

Potato, broccoli & cheese, chili, beef stew, chicken noodle. Enough said.

Hot Turkey Sandwich

GRAVY. GRAVY. GRAVY. Anything with gravy is fire. Especially that day after thanksgiving hot turkey sandwich. Potatoes and stuffing on the side. MMMM.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Cheese but grilled. Enough said. If you are lactose intolerant I am sorry but these are so good on a warm day with tomato soup!

There are so many more but these are my go to’s!
