Meet Jenna God, one of our editors for Her Campus IUP! Jenna is a first-year student studying Accounting and English, Pre-Law from McVeytown, PA.

She chose IUP because she really liked the Honors College and the business honors programs. Jenna felt that those programs would offer her greater opportunities. Aside from editing for Her Campus, Jenna is member of the Pre-Law Society and is in the process of earning membership with the Student Accounting Association. I asked Jenna how she felt about her organizations and she said, “I like the organizations I’m a part of! I feel as though each one caters to a different interest of mine (writing/editing, law, and business) as well as giving me different avenues in which I can get involved on campus.”

During her remaining years at IUP, Jenna explained that she is looking forward to advancing more in her degree and expanding her mind. She really likes her majors, so the idea of learning more about them excites her. She would also like to study abroad in the future and is really looking forward to that opportunity.

On her tough days, Jenna leans on something all college students depend on at some point—coffee. Jenna’s favorite quote is by Sheryl Sandberg, “The ability to learn is the most important quality a leader can have.” Jenna explained that this is her favorite quote because “it shows just how valuable education and having a teachable attitude is. No matter how intelligent one perceives themselves to be, the pursuit of knowledge should never be ceased.”

Since Jenna is currently a first-year, her advice to her peers is to manage their time wisely. She says that this is a lesson she has learned in the few months that she has been at IUP.

Jenna is so sweet and so friendly and we’re very thankful she is a member of our team!
