5 Ways to Relax During Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

During finals week I find myself desperate for stress-relieving techniques. Good news! I’ve found a few that seem to work– at least for now.

1. Face Masks. It might seem a little too simple, but there is just something about laying in bed with a facemask on. Regardless of whether it works or not, it’s the thought that counts.

2. Dinner with Friends. Everyone is extremely busy with studying, but I highly recommend planning a brief yet dinner with your closest friends. The hour or two will allow you to momentarily escape. This little break will satisfy your food and gossip cravings for the time being, then you can go back to studying. I promise you’ll be happier and much more relaxed.

3. Workout. Run away from your stress. Not literally, but you get the idea.

4. Netflix. Now don’t overdo it, but there is something so therapeutic about watching your favorite show for an hour in the middle of a stressful day.

5. Light Candles. Again, this seems so simple, but lighting a candle while you’re studying can make a real difference. The smell of a candle alone can instantly relax a person.
