Last month’s passing of renowned fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta, was a huge loss to the fashion industry. The Dominican-born designer was known for his classic looks – many of which appeared on the red carpet – and his elaborate, sophisticated style. A favorite among many – especially Sarah Jessica Parker, Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner – De la Renta’s legacy will live on through his elegant and timeless creations. De la Renta dressed many, from first ladies to socialites and celebrities, for all of their most important occasions. With his passing, we take a look back on some of De la Renta’s most memorable, iconic looks.

1. Sarah Jessica Parker wore this Carrie Bradshaw-inspired mix of satin and feathers to the Emmy Awards, 2000.
