How to Survive the Final Stretch of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

The final stretch of the school year calls for papers, projects, presentations and exams. With the abundance of things to keep track of and complete, it can be overwhelming, to say the least. If you’re looking to prevent letting the stress of the end of the year get to you, here are a few tips and tricks to try.

MAKE A SCHEDULE/FILL OUT PLANNER

Making a schedule of when to do tasks or when to complete them by is a way of staying organized. This way, all the papers, projects, presentations, and exam study sessions can be evenly spaced out, allowing you to not feel so much weight at once.

FIND A GOOD STUDY SPACE

Finding a space perfect for you to focus on assignments and study is vital. Whether that be in a quiet corner of the library or in a student building, or at a table or on a couch, find whatever works best for you.

BE OKAY WITH TAKING BREAKS

With all the chaos of college, it is important to take breaks to not feel so swamped. Taking time from tasks to watch a movie, start a tv show, open a new book, work out, or hang with friends can be just what you need.

GET A LOT OF REST

Getting a sufficient amount of sleep is not only good for your health but will let you stay focused throughout the day in order to accomplish everything you want to. Sleeping eight hours a night, or even taking naps throughout the day can help do this.

EAT HEARTY MEALS

When tasked with a variety of things, it can be hard to find time to cook and eat nutrient-filled foods. But making sure you’re eating foods with enough vitamins and nutrients is vital in order to perform to the best of your abilities.

Since the semester’s end is near, and assignments are piling on assignments, try one or all of these tips and tricks to make it through this final stretch of the school year.
