The Big Box of Happiness

“No matter how tough times may be, remember: No storm can last forever. Better days are coming and they are coming your way.” This quote has always stuck with me. It is so easy to fall into a negative mindset when we are having a bad day that we forget about all the good things. We forget about the things that make us happy. 

 

I recently purchased something called the Big Box of Happiness which you can find at T.J.MAXX or on Amazon, and it reminds me to do something that will make me smile everyday. There are a variety of different happiness cards inside the box and I pull a card out randomly every morning. I do it in the morning so I can start my day off right with a smile on my face. Here are some examples of what the cards say:

 

  1. Change your phone screen saver to something that will make you laugh.

  2. Get lost in a bookstore.

  3. Call your best friend.

  4. Watch puppy videos online.

  5. Make a list and check something off.

  6. Open the windows and let in fresh air.

  7. Go out to a new dinner or lunch spot.

  8. Do something you’ve been procrastinating on.

  9. Sign up to volunteer.

  10. Change your alarm to your favorite workout song.

 

The box and cards are yellow as research has proven that staring at bright colors increases happiness. It is always important to start your day off with a smile. Sometimes it is hard to do that especially when you are extremely tired or are in a bad mood when you wake up, but I promise the Big Box of Happiness can fix that.
