5 Skincare Products You NEED That Are Under $10

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

If you’re anything like me, the second that the northeast turns cold, my skin struggles. Between the wind, the chilly temperatures, and my consistent snacking on junk food while I binge Netflix inside all day, my skin becomes incredibly dry, flaky, and overall a hot mess. Of course, I have my usual skincare routine, but in the winter my face definitely needs a little extra TLC. So, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite skincare products that are under $10, so that you can pamper your skin, but save your money for all those Christmas presents you’ll have to buy later.

Simple Micellar Gel Face Wash ($7)

One thing I love about this cleanser is that it works perfectly for every skin type, so it gives the perfect amount of moisture to the skin without overdoing it. It gently cleanses your skin using micellar water and strips your pores of any dirt or bacteria that may have built up throughout the day.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + HA Serum ($10)

I recently started using this product every night before applying my moisturizer and let me tell you, it is life changing. It helps control breakouts and sensitivity on the skin, and my skin has honestly never looked so clear of breakouts. Additionally, it helps get rid of acne scars and dark spots on the face, which I have a lot of. For only $10, this product is the perfect addition to your skincare routine if you want to feel a little “extra.”

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion ($6)

This lotion has been one of my holy grail products for the past year or so, and it has done wonders for my skin. As I mentioned earlier, my skin is incredibly dry during the winter and even gets pretty flaky, and this product literally sinks into my skin and leaves it so incredibly soft and moisturized. I pair it with the CeraVe Moisturizing Facial Wash, and the two together have made my skin so clear and moisturized.

Vaseline Lip Therapy ($2)

Technically your lips are also your skin, and combatting chapped lips is always a struggle for me during the winter! I have been using Vaseline Lip Therapy since I was probably 13 years old, and I have never found another lip balm that has always kept my lips soft and smooth for such a prolonged period of time. I usually get the non-tinted one, but if you want a rosy look, the ‘Rosy Lips’ shade is great too.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Overnight Gel Mask ($2.50 for a single)

This gel mask is literally perfect for combatting cracked and dry skin during the colder months. Put it on before bed and wash it off in the morning, and you’re left with a silky, soft, and moisturized face. My sister and I love all of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost products because they’re so moisturizing, but this mask definitely takes the cake.
