10 Ways To Be Springy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

1. Spray tans. Go on Sundays to Tanfabulous in Worcester and you can get a level 1 spray tan for only ten dollars! We all know that you feel better and people like you more when you’re tan (sad truth ;)).

2. Bright nail polish.  Bright blue (Check out Essie), neons, white even, fake it till you make it. Use bright nail polish colors to contrast with your pasty skin and convince people you’re super tan. (eh)

3. Get a pedicure! Peeps will now peep at your feet when the little toes want get some sun and you will be confident to rock your ten friends down there if they are clean and colorful!

4. Dress like you would if you lived anywhere else during the spring.  Just because Worcester is a black hole of wind and darkness doesn’t mean you can’t spice up the “I hate life” look and throw on a sundress, dig out the shades and mix in some spring colors. I also advise flip flops at your own caution, even if it makes your little toes cold it is totally a step (punny) in the right direction.

5. Work out outside. Take advantage of the warm spurts while we have them and get out of the stuffy gym you’ve been in all winter (or at least the one you tell people your going to when you go get food instead). The combo of fresh air and endorphins will be the best recipe for a feel good spring.

6. Blast country music.  Nothing says I’m over school and ready for summer like windows down, country music and sun.  Even if its like for the one 1 minute that you can take rolling down the window and pretending its sunny and 75 when its 40 and cloudy, you may just do enough to convince yourself its spring.

7. Skip class. JK don’t do that. But do something that makes you feel rebellious and like summer is right around the corner.  Suggestions being road trips, shopping sprees, picnics, or water balloon fights with friends on Clark Beach!

8. Acknowledge the fact that you can walk off campus without dying of hypothermia or slipping on ice and sliding down to the bottom of College St. While we are all lazy deep down and will most likely still continue to cab to nearby destinations you CAN actually walk places now.

9. Iced coffee/tea. Carry with confidence ladies there is no fear of freezing your fingers off while carrying your iced caramel with skim to class! Celebrate the sun with a raspberry iced tea from CB or his cool cousin CB2!

10. Stand outside facing the sun for long periods of time. Bring a coat or blanket if its not actually tanning weather.  We are entering the period of the year where the UV index is up and we can actually snag a tan, CARPE DIEM!!!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!! GET OUT THERE AND BE SPRINGY!
