We are ringing in the spring semester with a new Written in the Stars blog post! This week we are tackling the four elements in astrology. You might have heard that Virgo is an earth sign and Aquarius is an air sign (not water, as many would guess), but what does it really mean? The twelve zodiac signs are grouped together by these four elements– fire, water, earth, and air.
These elements give the signs distinctive traits that help us better understand the signs and show us how the signs must work and depend on each other, as they each bring something vital to the world. In this week’s post, we have broken down each element and its respective signs to give you your best traits and which element you are compatible with.
But before we get into the elements, we want to wish you all a wonderful Aquarius season and give you a little advice on how to handle this airy season. To all of you Aquarians out there, Happy Birthday! You are unique, immensely independent and you carry one of the biggest hearts of the zodiac despite your reputation of being heartless. Your intellect and the humanitarian inside of you work together so you can lead yourself to a path of activism.
This also makes you amazing friends to have because you are always ready to help and listen, oftentimes ignoring your own emotional needs and pushing down your vulnerabilities. This season, focus on yourself. The same way you are always there for others, be there for yourself. Tap into your vulnerable side and be more open with others, and most importantly, yourself.
For everyone else, this season, rip a page out of the Aquarians book and focus yourself on the world around you. There is always someone to help, a new humanitarian organization to donate to, and some local shelters that need volunteers. Give your time and talents to something worthwhile. Now, onto the elements!
Fire
If you are an Aries, Sagittarius or Leo, then you are a fire sign. Fire signs are known to be passionate, spontaneous, and energetic. You are always the first to come up with something fun to do for the day. Your bubbly personalities are contagious and you are known as the signs that have the most fun. However, fire can be deadly. You can often be quick-tempered and impatient, causing you to overreact at times if you don’t think before you speak. You are most compatible with air signs because they do not react to their emotions right away and also contain that playful spontaneous energy you love so much.
Water
If you are a Scorpio, Cancer or Pisces, you are a water sign. Intuitive, mysterious, and emotional are the three best words to describe water signs. You are very perceptive and one of your many talents is knowing how to read a room. You are hyper-aware of other people’s emotions as well as your own, which makes you the go-to friend when someone needs a shoulder to lean on. As much as you are deep and nurturing, you can be moody and too sensitive at times. You are most compatible with earth signs. They will keep you grounded when you become too dreamy and idealistic, while you can teach them about the deeper emotions and meanings in life.
Earth
If you are a Taurus, Capricorn or Virgo, then you are considered an earth sign. This means that you are grounded and help bring people back to reality. Not only that, but you are loyal and dependable and focus on building solid foundations in your life. You’re known for being stubborn and focusing too much on surface ideas rather than deeper meanings. You’ll find that your most compatible signs are water signs because of their go-with-the-flow and dreamy personalities.
Air
For those born as a Gemini, Aquarius or Libra, you fall under an air sign. Considered as carefree and curious signs, you are always on the go looking for your next exploration. Attracting people’s attention is no challenge for you, but it can be hard to pin you down because you get bored easily. Your most compatible signs are fire signs because they bring excitement and chaos with them that’s magnetic and keeps you entertained.
