Niall Horan is releasing music in a little over a month. This will be his first album in 3 years and the energy is high. Fans are on the edge of their seats to hear what sound the Irish singer’s fourth album will bring. After looking at past projects, new singles and other promotions surrounding the album, here’s what we think we can expect with Niall’s “Dinner Party” era.
Looking Back
Niall Horan has previously released three studio albums, which could give us hints as to what to expect from his fourth. His past works seem to follow a very soft pop genre, with hints of other genres such as country, alternative and folk music blended throughout. His music ranges from soft ballads like “Put a Little Love on Me” and “Flicker” to upbeat, catchy love songs such as “Black and White” and “Save My Life”. Based on this, it seems like Niall will deliver a good mix on this new project and we may potentially even hear some styles we haven’t heard from Niall before.
new singles
In anticipation of the album in June, Niall has released two singles that have helped us get a feel for this album’s musical direction. “Dinner Party,” the title track of the album, is a fun love song about meeting his long-term girlfriend, Amelia Wooley. It’s a very light-hearted and fun piece that gives an overall feel-good vibe. In a similar sense, his second single, “Little More Time,” talks about his love life and wishing he could spend more time with the one he loves. It’s a little slower than the first and has a sense of longing to it that differentiates it from the title track. Looking at these singles, it seems like Niall fans can expect a lot of love reflected on the album.
Interviews
Horan has also been making his way across the media circuit to promote his new album. In an interview with Apple Music, Niall said that the album “feels like me,” and in another interview with the Dish Podcast, Niall says that this album is “a bit rockier”. This could suggest a fuller, more instrumental heavy sound. Another thing Horan has mentioned in interviews to be on the lookout for is, the track “End of an Era”, which he has mentioned is about the loss of former bandmate Liam Payne, who passed in October 2024. Considering Horan’s past ballads, this song could be one of the ones that lingers with fans the most. Given what Niall has revealed, it seems that this album will evoke all kinds of emotions for fans.
Though all we can do at the moment is speculate, one thing is for sure: we can’t wait to hear “Dinner Party” when it releases on June 5. Happy listening!
