Tune-In Tuesday: Justin Timberlake Concert

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

On Dec. 5, 2014, I was able to see the man who brought sexy back. That’s right, Justin Timberlake. I drove two hours to experience the concert that everyone would be jealous of (thanks mom and dad for driving me).

This man has been famous since the Mickey Mouse Club. He moved to N’Sync and then started going solo while also taking on acting. Not only could he sing and act, he’s also known for being an amazing performer. Singing, acting and dancing – can you say triple threat?

Now even though the Mohegan Sun Venue in Connecticut is smaller than some of the other arenas he has played in, it still made for a fantastic concert. I was at the top of the arena but was still able to see everything! Timberlake made sure to move around the stage, noticing all sides of the showground.

Aside from his dancing and amazing backup dancers and vocals, the performance included many light and laser shows, making the event even more exciting and adrenaline-pumping.

But the biggest surprise and the best part of the night was when the stage lifted. That’s right, Justin Timberlake was on a rising stage, moving towards the back of the arena. He was dancing, running and singing on a long yet narrow platform, and then proceeded to walk down onto a circular stage in the middle of the floor. From there he played the acoustic guitar and did covers of Michael Jackson and an acoustic version of his own hit “What Goes Around, Comes Around.”

His last song made the tears fall from my face, being that I knew the concert was ending. The concert was one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended, and I loved that song. What song would that be? Mirrors.

His encore songs were SexyBack (one of my all-time favorite “dancing around the room” songs), and Mirrors. Even though that song was always overplayed on the radio, hearing it live gave a different feel that could only be described as mesmerizing.

Between the opening DJ, to Justin Timberlake giving himself his own ten-minute intermission, the concert was flawless. We can all agree he is a legend, a modern day king of pop. It’s highly recommended that you see him, because you will not regret it.
