Tune-in Tueday: All I Want For Christmas Is You

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.
It’s that time of the year again! December is here and Christmas time has (officially) arrived! Now if you’re like my brother, you probably have been prepared for this moment since July, but now we can start talking about Christmas songs when the rest of the world is caught up in the holiday spirit!

So let’s start off with a personal favorite of mine, All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey! I’m not an avid Mariah listener, but I can whole-heartedly say that this was one of the best songs she has ever produced, and has created such a classic Christmas song that is loved by everyone.
The song has the classic sleigh bells in the background, the upbeat tune (which I prefer over a slow Christmas song) and killer high notes that I’ve tried to hit but fail at always. Mariah Carey is the queen of high notes, and her work is awesome in this song. Even though this Christmas song is about wanting a person as opposed to any other Christmas item, I still appreciate the song. No, you do not need a man on Christmas. Go have some fun under the mistletoe. Go hang with your friends and go appreciate what you have. Go jump in the snow and go enjoy your Christmas. Do what you love but also jam out to this song as loud as you can (even though it contradicts everything I said)!

Let the jamming out begin and let your spirits rise!
