Grab your tissue boxes and turn on some music because everyone needs a good cry playlist! Let me count down my personal favorites:

10.  Adore You – Miley Cyrus

Feeling lonely or depressed over a relationship? Miley could possibly be the answer. Miles is known for her bizarre and humorous self, however, Adore You makes you want to cuddle up in your ever so small XL twin bed and cry your eyes out.

9. Heaven – Beyoncé

Queen Bey has done it again. Rose from her throne and controlled everyone’s emotions. Although, when you listen to this song you aren’t trying to seduce someone else like in Partition, Heaven’s lyrics are captivating yet extremely mournful.  Make sure you buy a few boxes of ultra soft tissues.

8.  Good Riddance – Green Day

When I hear this song I immediately think of graduation slide shows. Grandma’s holding you when you were two, selfies from your acne filled seventh grade face, and friends from high school. This is the perfect song to listen to when you or someone else is moving away; it suddenly gives you flashbacks of countless memories. Next thing you know, you will be crying.

7. Someone Like You – Adele

Bad breakups, ugly breakups and sad breakups. Whatever breakup you recently had, Adele can make it so much worse. The second you hear Adele stroke the keys across the piano, the waterworks turn on full blast. Her deep and powerful voice captures your attention, and your tears. To make the song even better, try to cry and sing at the same time. Have fun!

6.  Stay – Rihanna

Whether you like it or not, you will eventually have to say goodbye. Stay makes you cry your way through situations that involve saying goodbye. Hopefully she didn’t write this song about Chris Brown because we all would not want him to staaaaaaay.

5. How to Save a Life – The Fray

I’m not completely sure why this song can make you cry. However, I constantly find myself driving around town recklessly because this song came on. It’s great to sing (scream) along to while trying to keep your water filled eyes on the road.

4.  Latch (Acoustic) – Sam Smith

Originally sung by Disclosure, Sam Smith put his own spin on Latch.  The beautiful, soft voice and piano playing melts your heart. While listening to this song, you repeatedly ask yourself why you are single and why you can’t have a boyfriend that can sing like Sam Smith…all while crying.

3. I Miss You – Beyoncé

As flawless*** as Beyonce is, this song will make every human being the least bit flawless. Usually as the song wraps up, your lips are quivering and tears are rushing from your blood shot eyes. It is completely okay if you feel like squeezing someone extremely tight because this song is all about missing that one person.

2.  100 Years – Five For Fighting

Do you feel like years are flying by? Did you just graduate high school, or are you trying to forget it was five years ago? This song is perfect for people who don’t want to grow up because it is all about growing up! Grab your blanky from when you were born and prepare to wipe tears off of your face while you reflect on how fast life is going.

1.     Fix You – Coldplay

“Tears stream down your face when you lose something you cannot replace”. When there is a lyric like this in a song, it is a guaranteed cry for a good 23 minutes. If someone is an experienced crier with music, they will learn to cry with the song. In Fix You, it starts very calm so your eyes begin to swell up but as the music gets faster you cry harder and harder. At exactly 2 minutes and 35 seconds in the song, you will find yourself drowning in your salty tears. The song can get you so emotional that you cry for no apparent reason.
