Things To Do In The Fall Around Hofstra

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Fall is one of the most exciting times of year, but between internships, classwork and clubs, it can be easy to let this season slip away. Make sure to take a break from your work and enjoy the season! There’s plenty to do around Hofstra’s campus in the fall.

1.) Try All the Fall Flavors at Starbucks

We all know about Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte, but they also have Cinnamon Chai Tea Lattes, Salted Caramel Mochas and Toasted Graham Lattes. Lucky for us, there are two locations on campus that serve Starbucks drinks.

2.) Take an artsy fall pic

Hofstra’s campus is an arboretum, so it’s practically a given that it looks beautiful in the fall (as well as all the other seasons). If you post the picture on Instagram and tag @hofstrau, you might even get featured on Hofstra’s instagram.

3.) Go to Roosevelt Field Mall to Find a Fall Outfit

Lucky for us, we have a huge mall only a short drive or shuttle ride away. Explore the stores for the perfect fall outfit, which may include sweaters, flannels, boots and scarves.

4.) Go see a movie presented by Entertainment Unlimited

Entertainment Unlimited shows movies that just left theaters a few months ago. It’s the perfect opportunity to stay inside on a cold night and see a movie on the big screen—for free!

Check out the list of movies:

5.) Go to Bayville Scream Park

Just because the Halloween season is coming to a close, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a few more scares. Bayville Scream Park, which is only about a half an hour drive from Hofstra, is open until Nov. 8. If you enjoy being scared, you should check out their 5 attractions, including a haunted mansion, 3D funhouse and more!

6.) Have a Pre-Thanksgiving Meal with your Friends

Thanksgiving doesn’t quite have the buildup that some of the other holidays have, so why not try to prolong the fun? You don’t have to go all out, but making some mashed potatoes, stuffing and pies for an intimidate dinner with close friends is the perfect way to get prepared for the holiday.
