WHAT ARE YOU INVOLVED IN ON CAMPUS?
“At Hofstra I am involved in Danceworks Club, and I am a member of Alpha Phi sorority.”
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BEING A HOFSTRA STUDENT?
“I love the size of this campus and the size of the student body, and I love seeing people that I know everyday. I just love everyone that I have met here.”
WHAT IS IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BEING A SISTER OF ALPHA PHI?
“My favorite part of being a sister of Alpha Phi is that it gets me a lot more involved at Hofstra than I originally would have been, such as philanthropy events, breast cancer walks, and getting to collaborate with a lot of other organizations at Hofstra.”
WHAT YOUR FAVORITE THING THAT YOU HAVE DONE WITH ALPHA PHI?
“Every year we have a Red Dress Gala where we raise money for Cardiac Care, which is our philanthropy. It was last March or April; we had a huge dinner and a live and silent auction. It was at a temple in Syosset, it was really nice and decorated, everybody’s family came in, and everyone wore red, so that was fun.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH DANCEWORKS?
“I started being involved with DanceWorks the fall of my freshman year, and in the spring I was in two of the showcase dance pieces.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SHOWCASE FROM DANCEWORKS?
“This semester will be my second [showcase] and my favorite dance is going to be a jazz piece to the songs “Let Me Entertain You” and “Le Jazz Hot”.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DANCING?
“I have been dancing since I was two years old with my aunt—she was my first ballet teacher. And then I was in the Seacoast Civic Dance Company at my local studio, and at Hofstra I am in DanceWorks, and I am taking a modern [dance] class.”
WHAT IS THE MOST EMBARASSING THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU ON STAGE WHILE DANCING?
“At my studio we have this gala, and one year it was on a really small stage at this firehouse. I was kneeling on the ground and the boy next to me turned to run off of the stage and plowed into me and we both fell over, so that was pretty cool. We laughed about it, and I don’t know if anyone else noticed because it was such a small stage.”
WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE DREAM JOB?
“My ultimate dream job would be to work in entertainment PR or sports PR because I think it would be great and have a lot of cool perks, and it would be great to meet a lot of cool people.”
