My best friend and I made an agreement that for our senior spring break we were finally going to go on a trip – and that is exactly what we did.
We took a four day trip to Nashville, and it was the best time ever! Just like any other college kids, we went on our trip on a budget.
Here is a list of all of the spots you need to check out in Nashville, perfect for college kids on a budget!
Centennial Park
This is the perfect spot to start your Nashville trip with because it’s free! This beautiful park is a great place to go for a scenic run or have a nice picnic. There are walking trails and really pretty places to take pictures. You can even take a seat on one of the many benches around the park, and Dolly Parton has even sat on these benches before and taken iconic pictures. Fun fact: this park also has a bench dedicated to Taylor Swift and her lyrics in “Invisible String.”
Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum
A personal favorite part of our Nashville trip was our visit to the museums. The first museum we visited was the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum. This museum featured many iconic artists such as The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen. The museum was very interactive and even had a floor dedicated to the Grammys where you could play a bunch of instruments or just sit down and watch iconic Grammy performances. There are even student discounted tickets for this museum!
Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
If you ever go to Nashville, you obviously have to stop by the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. This museum has a similar set up to the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum; however, this time most of the artists featured in the museum have all been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. There was also a floor dedicated to today’s country artists, such as Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen and Post Malone. This museum was just as interactive as the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum – there were even rooms where you could do karaoke! At the time of our visit, both Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson had limited time exhibits on display. This museum also had discounted tickets for students!
Broadway
You can’t go to Nashville without visiting Broadway! This is the strip that features the iconic Nashville bars and restaurants. Something that was really cool about Broadway was that all of the bars were owned by famous country singers, such as Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll and many more! It was super cool to stop by these bars and restaurants. A lot of the decor was amazing! Broadway is always hopping, especially at night. Make sure to take a trip there!
Cheekwood
Cheekwood is a botanical garden and art museum that was once the private residence of the Cheek family. There are many photo opportunities around Cheekwood, from its beautiful field of flowers to the preserved mansion. There is a ticket you have to purchase to go, but the place was gorgeous and you can get some of the best pictures here!
Grand Ole Opry
The Grand Ole Opry is an iconic music staple of Nashville. The venue holds weekly live country music concerts and it’s an honor when a country artist gets to perform here. The Grand Ole Opry holds daily tours, but unfortunately my friend and I weren’t able to make it on one of the tours. We were still able to see it from the outside though!
Tennessee State Capitol
Another free stop you should add to your Nashville trip is visiting the Tennessee State Capitol. The state capitol is open to the public and you’re more than welcome to go inside and to take a look around. There are also options for a guided tour.
Getting to visit Nashville was an incredible experience, and we were able to have a great trip on a budget!
Happy traveling!
