The Mid-Semester Slump as Told by Leslie Knope

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

It’s draining, it’s terrifying, it’s unavoidable, and it happens to all of us: it’s the mid-semester slump. While it may feel like the end of the world, you can make it through the middle of the semester, even when you feel like you just can’t go on anymore. Just remember that you’re not alone, and even lady bosses like Leslie Knope understand the slump.

When you feel yourself losing all control of your life

When your mid-terms suddenly start appearing out of nowhere…

…and your professor starts telling you everything you’ll need to know

Literally just the inside of your mind all day, every day

When you just need caffeine and someone in front of you orders a Frappuccino, making your wait time ~that~ much longer

Trying (and failing) to dodge all of your responsibilities

After studying or doing any type of work for a solid 10 minutes

When Netflix is calling your name at 11:50 but an assignment is due at 11:59

When you give in to Netflix and realize the grave mistake you made

Listening to your friends talk about how ~easy~ their classes are

When stress eating becomes your diet 24/7

Trying to function like a normal human being after getting a solid two hours of sleep

When you’re willing to sleep anywhere, and at any time

Literally any time you catch yourself procrastinating

When you FINALLY make it to the end of the semester and leave campus feeling like the ultimate badass collegiette
