Nine years ago, Garry Marshall (yes, the genius behind Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries franchise) gifted the world with the perfect Valentine’s Day present: a star-studded film. Centered around the love-filled holiday, Marshall called on Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Héctor Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, George Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Emma Roberts, and Patrick Dempsey, just to name a few, to help tell their own versions of the holiday. The movie has a Love Actually feel to it due to the intertwining storylines that link together the characters in surprising ways. This Valentine’s Day, let’s look back at some of the best moments from Valentine’s Day.

Young Love

Felicia (Taylor Swift) and Will (Taylor Lautner) are quite the high school couple. When the local L.A. news comes to their high school for a Valentine’s Day segment, the pair puts on quite the show.

The Lying, Stinking Pig

Julia (Jennifer Garner) thought she had the perfect boyfriend— until she finds out that Harrison (Patrick Dempsey) is actually married and has a family. She gives him a taste of his own medicine—it’s “punny” because he’s a doctor—by pretending to be his waitress while he’s at Valentine’s Day dinner with his wife.

A Bag of Pretzels, Please

Holden (Bradley Cooper) and Katherine (Julia Roberts) are seated next to each other on the plane ride back to L.A. A platonic relationship blossoms between the two, and, honestly, who wouldn’t blame the stewardess for staring at Bradley Cooper?

Do You Have a One Course Option?

Jason (Topher Grace) and Elizabeth (Anne Hathaway) have just started dating. Trying to impress his date, Jason takes her to a fancy restaurant that ends up being overly crowded, thus resulting in some awkward, yet funny mishaps.

If you want to find out what happens to all the characters in Valentine’s Day, you can watch the movie on HBO Now. Garry Marshall also directed another holiday hit, New Year’s Eve, if you crave another celebrity-centric, holiday-specific film.
