Most notable for styling Zendaya, Roach has gained a ton of traction online for his loud looks and loud mouth.
Roach’s commitment to Zendaya stands out. For each press tour on her movie-line, he crafts each look to match the character personality and movie themes.
The themed looks bloomed during “The Challengers” press tour. Each outfit was tailored to match the movie Zendaya was promoting. Preppy looks with green accents dominated the tour.
She followed with this idea of “method dressing” for the “Euphoria” season 3 press tour, the “Dune” and “Spider-Man” franchise press tours and “The Drama” press tour.
Roach sparked conversations all over the internet. Social media users hypothesized he was using clothes to foreshadow movie endings and character storylines; predominantly black looks during the “Europhia” tour foreshadowed Rue’s tragic ending. When Zendaya walked “Spider-Man” red carpets in black, gothic looks, fans jumped to conclusions and arguing about the meaning behind each look.
Roach’s love for Zendaya shines through not only in his curated fashion choices, but also through the way he talks about his client.
On two occasions, Roach spilled the beans about Zendaya and Tom Holland’s marriage and wedding ceremony. In March, he made headlines by claiming at the Actor Awards that the “Spider-Man” stars had already tied the knot. But on the Emmy Awards red carpet Monday, Sept. 14, Roach changed his tune.
“I actually lied,” he told Variety and CNN. “She wasn’t married. They actually haven’t had an official ceremony yet. It’s going to happen after the ‘Dune’ press tour.”
In each instance, he talked with awe and admiration for the couple, laughing and poking fun at the situation. Because audiences are curious: Is Zendaya married? Roach is really the only look into this private couple.
Roach is coming back from a brief retirement from March 2023 to April 2025, exclusively working with Zendaya during that time. He is slowly easing himself back into practice.
