1. What drew you to Hofstra University?
Well, I transferred here from a community college upstate. I knew I wanted to be in a bigger area with more opportunities. And actually, my counselor was trying to help me figure out a good school for me and in a side bar convo he started telling me about his daughter and how she was doing this study abroad program at Hofstra University. The name stuck with me and I looked into it. I saw they had a pretty good communications school and that they were close to the city and I was basically sold.

2. What orgs are you involved with at Hofstra?
I am president of Hofstra University Association of Black Journalists and event chair of zeta phi eta. And I’m hoping to get more involved in her campus and NAACP.

3. What have you done as president of the Hofstra Association of Black Journalists?
Well, I just got the position, so not much yet, but my main goals to build the club up as much as possible. My co-president and I want to help our members get more clips and published articles along with building a community of like minded journalists that can help each other out. This semester we are planning a social media event, along with having a panel about branding yourself and building your brand.

4. And where would you like to be after you graduate?
Honestly I love so many things that I can’t just give one straight answer anymore. If you asked me 2 years ago, I would have said my goal 100 percent is to host my own show about social issues. Although I’m not 100% sure if that’s still my end goal anymore but my biggest goal has always been helping people, and if I can help people through writing articles for a popular magazine or blog or doing photo journalism or documentary film series, then I’m willing. I know I’m about to sound like a cliche hippie, but I just really want to spread a message of love and positivity to all people and help abolish existing stereotypes and prejudice.

5. What is your favorite part of hofstra?
I love the people I have met. I have a really tight nit group of people that I met within my first week of being here and we are all transfer students. We have become so close that they are practically like my family. It makes life away from home so much easier when you have an awesome support system to help motivate you. I also love the endless amount of opportunities here. If you want to get involved in a club, if you need help getting an internship, if you even need help tying your shoe you don’t have to look far to get help doing it. It’s almost as if you are set up to succeed by choosing to go to school here. The best opportunities are at your door step and the best city on earth is right around the corner.
